What is freckle, why does it occur?

Freckle ; Also known as ephelids, they are dark and light brown skin spots 1-3 mm in diameter, usually seen in the white population with fair skin and colored eyes.

WHY DOES FRECK OCCUR?

Freckles usually appear in childhood in genetically predisposed individuals. They tend to fade with age. More in summer, uncontrolled sunbathing causes freckles to recur.

WHY ARE FRIES IMPORTANT?

Fair skin color, red hair and freckles are risk factors for skin cancers called melanoma. Close follow-up of these patients is important.

WHEN SHOULD freckles be treated?

Freckles alone are not a cause of discomfort or disease other than appearance (aesthetic) discomfort.

WHICH METHODS ARE TREATED FOR freckles?

Let’s start with the most effective method;

– Q switched laser treatment (the most successful treatment)

– Chemical peeling

– Cryotherapy

– Local peeling creams

– Color lightening creams

THINGS TO CONSIDER AFTER FREAK TREATMENT

Since freckle treatment is a kind of spot treatment, it is very important for our patients to apply sun protection 3 times a day after the procedure, as in all spot treatments. If there are stain lightening creams recommended by the doctor, they should definitely use it.

They should be protected from uncontrolled light damage (sun, computer, mobile phone, etc.). As long as the rules are followed after the treatments, we usually do not visit our freckle patients again,
