Herpes (herpes simplex), shingles, night burn (shingles zoster), chickenpox (varicella)

This group of diseases are created by viruses. Viruses can be acquired as a result of contact with another patient from the outside, but once ingested, they stay in the organism in a latent (sleeping phase) state and are reactivated when they find a suitable time and place.

Herpes (Herpes simplex) is caused by Herpes virus hominus types 1 and 2. Preliminary symptoms such as itching, mild pain, and malaise occur before herpes appears. Rashes occur on the face, around the mouth or genital organs, less frequently in other areas in a few hours or days. These are in the form of water bags (vesicles) grouped more or less on a reddened surface.

Usually the first infection is acquired during kissing or similar intimacy with someone who has herpes germ, or during sexual intercourse. Sometimes the person who takes it shows signs of herpes after a few days. Most of the time, antibodies are positive in the blood and viruses are latent (sleeping) in the dorsal root gonglions (nerve cells). However, when the person’s resistance decreases, for example, if the virus is activated due to flu, another infection, fatigue, stress, exposure to the sun, menstruation, etc., herpes symptoms will occur.

Herpes (Herpes infection) can be located in the eye (keratoconjunctivitis), brain (meningoencephalitis), inside the mouth (gingivostomatitis), apart from the skin and genital organs.

Genital herpes (genital herpes) caused by herpes virus type 2 is very contagious. It can cause epidemics among young people. Children born to women with genital herpes infection may develop “neononatal herpes”, which can be fatal. Women with genital herpes must give birth by cesarean section.

Herpes symptoms are initially in the form of a group of clear water-filled sacs lined up like pearls, but when they burst, they turn into watery, ulcerated and crusted sores. If secondary infection does not occur, it heals in a few days or weeks, leaving no trace or light staining.

ZONA, NIGHT BURNS (Zona Zoster): It is caused by herpes virus varicella, which is a herpes virus. It involves a certain nerve tracing. It is a disease that is usually in the form of a band on the skin, with grouped water vesicles on a reddened surface. A few days before the rash, severe pain occurs in the form of a band. The complaints of pain are less in people, it can be felt in the form of itching. Near the shingles rash, the neighboring lymph nodes almost always swell. Although shingles is mostly located in the intercostal nerve trace (ribs-chest region), atypical localizations may also occur. It can be located on the face, around the eyes, on the arm, on the leg. The pain is very severe in those located in the face area.

The pain before the rash can be misleading. It can be confused with migraine pain in the head region, angina (chest pain) in the chest region, kidney stone pain in the waist region, sciatica, lumbar hernia pain in the leg region.

Shingles, which is usually seen in people over middle age, can rarely be seen in children. Causes that reduce body resistance, such as extreme fatigue, stress, carcinomas, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, stimulate viruses. Viruses in the dorsal root ganglia (nerve cells) in the latent state become active and form the disease picture.

The symptoms of shingles regress in a few weeks. It leaves more or less scars in its place. Shingles usually happens once and leaves immunity. After the symptoms go away, the pain (post zonal pain) in some people can last for months or even years.

Water Flower (Varicella) Herpes virus is a disease caused by varicella and is an epidemic in children. It heals by leaving immunity. This disease, which was seen very frequently in the past, has decreased considerably as a result of vaccine development and administration. Red rashes all over the body, vesicles and sometimes many different rashes together with inflamed bubbles. (polymorphism) Itching is excessive. It can involve the whole body, the scalp and even the inside of the mouth.
