Heirs like it hot

With the increase in temperature, my patients with varicose veins started to call me one by one. Of course, since the veins expand in hot weather, varicose veins start to give more trouble.

Varicose veins are purely a vein problem. It is the deformation of the vessels with the pause of the blood circulation. It occurs after a certain age, especially in 75% of people over the age of 65. It mostly occurs on the ankles, legs, buttocks, vagina, and anus.

If your family members have varicose veins, it is clear that you will also be genetically predisposed.

§ Heredity in the first place, then standing still for long periods or inactivity are among the leading causes of varicose veins.

§ On the other hand, high-heeled shoes, tight clothing, excessive consumption of alcohol and spices prepare the ground for varicose veins.

§ Long-term use of cortisone creams can also cause varicose veins. Birth control pills and menopause treatments can sometimes cause varicose veins.

HOT and SUN!

Since the season is summer, our topic today is the inevitable effect of heat! Unfortunately, the heat expands the veins. Therefore, it is necessary to be more careful about varicose veins during the summer.

For example;

§ Avoid using hot water. Hot water causes the veins to dilate and increase the problems.

§ It is very useful to shock varicose legs with warm-cold water. It allows the veins to contract and relax.

§ Massage the varicose area with cold water in the morning and evening in the shower.

§ Stay away from saunas, spas and spa centers.

Even if you have no heirs, heat expands capillaries . This causes them to crack. The reason for this situation is usually excessive sunbathing.

Especially on the face of white-skinned people, capillary cracks resembling a spider web are clearly noticeable.

WE NEED TO LEARN TO LIVE WITH THE HERO:

Varicose veins is a problem that can be treated. But these treatments are not done in the summer. On the other hand, varicose veins can occur again despite all treatments. Genetic predisposition is very decisive in this regard. If you have varicose veins, or if you know that there is a predisposition to varicose veins in your family, I can give you a few tips to alleviate your problems:

§ If you are overweight, try to lose some weight. As the body weight decreases, the problem of varicose veins is alleviated.

§ Do not stand for a long time and rest your leg muscles by resting your legs on a high place at every opportunity

§ Never sunbathe, but swim a lot.

§ Try to help blood circulation by walking or doing sports regularly.

§ Do not wear tight, tight clothing, high-heeled shoes.

§ If you are using compression stockings, pay attention to the size. Tight or loose socks may increase your problems.

§ Before putting on compression stockings, raise your legs a little higher and rest for two or three minutes.

§ Stretch your feet at every opportunity, put a thick pillow under your feet when you go to bed at night.

It is important not to repeat the conditions that led to varicose veins. For example, if weight gain, standing, wearing high-heeled shoes start to force blood circulation again, varicose veins may come back.
