acne (pimples)

Acne, known colloquially as acne, is the most common skin problem. 85% of the population suffer from acne at some point in their life.
Acne is a disease of the sebaceous glands in our skin, normally the oil secreted by these glands needs to be excreted by going to the surface of the skin. However, sometimes the sebaceous gland secretes more oil, the channel that allows this oil to pass to the skin surface is blocked due to a concentrated oil mass. The main cause of acne is this blockage. This plug creates blackheads. Under the blackheads, bacteria begin to grow and inflammation develops.

Acne is a treatable disease. If left untreated, it can leave permanent scars. Permanent scars can impair one’s mental health.

Treatment methods vary according to the severity of acne. While only cream treatments are sufficient for mild acne, oral medication is also required for moderate and severe acne. If treated properly, the risk of scarring is low.
Acne scars cannot be treated with today’s technology. With fractional lasers, acne scars, pits and spots can be easily treated.
