Liposuction!

What is Lipsuction?

Body shaping with liposuction (vacuum fat removal) is a technique to remove locally collected excess fat deposits. With this technique, fat accumulations in the arms, knees, lower legs, trunk, back, breasts, neck, under the chin and more often in the hips, outer thigh, inner thigh, front thigh, hip sides and abdomen are removed and these areas are reshaped.
Liposuction (vacuum fat suction) is performed in three ways using fine cannulas:

one- By injector.
2- With hospital central vacuum system.
3- With special vacuum device.

In Which Situations Is Liposuction Applied?

Liposuction is applied to thin out the disproportionately enlarged hips, hip flanks, thighs, abdomen, waist area in cases whose weight and body structure are relatively normal. With these changes, the removal of fat in the arms, calves, knees, on the chest, under the chin can often be done in the same surgery.

Liposhaping= Shaping fats
Bodyshaping= body shaping
Bodysculpturing = artistic sculpting of the body
Bodycontouring= Shaping processes such as the correction of the contours of the body are performed by applying the Liposuction technique.

Preoperative Evaluation:

If considering liposuction, the first step a person should take is to consult a plastic surgeon. The patient should openly discuss their expectations for looking and feeling good after surgery, keeping in mind that the desired result is correction, not perfection.

Liposuction is not a method that can be applied instead of weight loss that can be achieved through diet and exercise. It is a suitable surgical technique for carefully evaluated and selected cases. Your surgeon may recommend an operation in which the skin and fat tissue are excised, instead of or together with liposuction.

The secret to the success of body shaping with liposuction lies in the removal of some of the fat cells and fat receptors (around 50%) together with the absorbed fat with this technique, so that excess fat cannot be collected in these areas as before. While planning the body shaping, it is one of the most important approaches for success to evaluate all the regional fat accumulation foci and to include all of them in the areas where liposuction will be performed. In addition to the surgical technique to be used, your surgeon will also discuss specific details about your situation, such as anesthesia, where the surgery will be performed, and how successful the surgery actually was.

What are the Surgical Methods Used in Liposuction Technique? How is it applied?

Twenty years ago, the shaping of fat gatherings in the body was carried out by making surgical incisions. As a result, unwanted scars were formed, which made the patients unhappy. By entering through small holes, removing the fat by vacuum, thus correcting the body shape, has revolutionized plastic surgery. The development of an incisionless and therefore traceless method has made patients and doctors very happy.

The removal of fat in the areas where liposuction will be performed can be performed with 4 techniques.

1- Dry technique
2- Wet technique (wet technique)
3- Superwet technique (very old technique)
4- It can be done in four ways, including Tumssan technique.

Which Type of Anesthesia is Used in Liposuction Operation?

Liposuction can be performed under local anesthesia where the area to be treated is numbed or under general anesthesia. Medication is given to relieve tension before anesthesia is administered. Sedative (soothing) local anesthetic will make you comfortable during the surgery. If general anesthesia was applied, you will sleep during the entire operation.

How is Liposuction Operation Performed?

The operation is performed on the area where liposuction will be applied, approximately 0.5 cm. It starts with an incision. A thin tubular cannula with a blunt tip and small holes near the tip is passed through the incision. The absorber unit is connected to the outer end. The surgeon uses the cannula in the subcutaneous tissue, separating the amount of fat to be removed. High vacuum pressure is created and oil is sucked out. Sometimes additional incisions may be required to provide access to remove all unwanted fat deposits. The incision is closed with a few stitches, leaving a small and often concealed scar.

Following surgery, a bandage can be applied to the entire treated area with stretch socks and for others with elastic wraps to accelerate the retraction of the skin so that it conforms smoothly to the shape of the underlying tissue. Special compression stockings are used for three weeks with this method, which provides tight compression to reduce bruising and swelling in the surgical field.

How Long Does Liposuction Operation Take?

Depending on the extent of the surgery, the procedure can take from 45 minutes to 2 hours or even longer.

How Does Healing Happen After Liposuction Surgery?

There may be very mild pain that responds to painkillers for a few days after surgery. The numbness and mild pain may continue for a while. Walks help these complaints disappear quickly.

The hospitalized patient will usually be removed one day after the operation, in some exceptional cases this period may be longer. Protective bands are usually opened in the first week of surgery. It is recommended to use stretch socks for 2-3 more weeks. From the 6th day of the surgery, 5-10 sessions of physical therapy will be beneficial.

There will be some swelling and bruising and it will take 6-8 weeks for them to disappear completely. There is a possibility of fluctuations or roughening of the skin over the treated area. To prevent this, do the exercises that will be taught to you during physical therapy for 20-30 minutes a day. and for at least six months. If there are surface defects such as skin dimples, which are usually called “cellulite” before the surgery, they will decrease after the surgery.

Cases above normal weight with localized fat deposits should be prepared to accept the possibility of less contour irregularity and skin remodeling to achieve a better appearance while dressed. Surgical removal of the excess skin with a second procedure may be required for maximum good results in elderly people where skin elasticity is lost.

What Should Be Done After Liposuction Surgery?

From the 1st to the 5th day, make an appointment with the physical therapist we recommend.
2- Exercises other than ultrasound therapy will be taught in physical therapy. It will be beneficial for you to do these for 20 minutes a day. It is recommended that you do these movements throughout your life, but it is imperative that you do them for at least six months after the surgery. Otherwise, there may be fluctuations in your skin.
3- In the post-operative period, at least two liters of water or various liquids should be taken per day. (tea, soup, fresh juice etc.)
4- You are kindly requested to make an appointment for your controls in the 1st week, 3rd week, 3rd month, 6th month.

What is Cavitation Called as Virtual Liposuction?

In recent years, ultrasound technology has had a wide application area for cosmetic and aesthetic purposes. With ultra cavitation technology, intercellular spaces are filled, improving the physiological structure, helping to dissolve the bonds between fat cells and weakening and breaking the walls of fat cells.

The low-frequency ultrasound waves emitted by the Cavitation Device include reducing regional fat deposits and reshaping the body. The ultrasound waves it generates break up the fat cell membranes and the released fat is removed from the area by blood and lymph to be expelled from the body. Regional lubrication and cellulite are fought with the help of these sound waves. The foaming that occurs with the cavitation application creates first expansion and then explosion. This effect called cavitation; It liquefies the oil and destroys the walls of the cells and disrupts the structure of the oils. The fat cells and the released fatty acids in this tissue are broken down and they are tried to be removed from them by means of the lymphatic pathways.
